Barros & Errázuriz advised the Lenders in the financing of two projects managed by Opdenergy Generación SpA and its subsidiaries Eólica La Estrella SpA and AustrianSolar Chile Uno SpA.

The projects consist in (i) the development and construction by Eólica La Estrella SpA of a wind farm with an approximate capacity of 50 megawatts, located in the VI Region, 80 km west of Rancagua, Chile, in the locality of La Estrella; and (ii) the development and construction by AustrianSolar Chile Uno SpA of a solar power plant, with an approximate capacity of 89.4 megawatts, located in the III Region, 125 km north of Copiapó, Chile. Both projects also involved the development and construction of certain associated interconnection facilities, such as transmission lines and a substation.

The aforementioned project will supply 140 MW of clean and reliable energy to the transmission system in Chile.

It is worth mentioning that B&E team, also performed as the counsel of Banco Security in its capacity as creditor of the financing to pay the Value Added Tax (VAT) associated with the construction of both projects.
