On January 15, 2025, Resolution of the General Water Directorate No. 4,155 dated December 30, 2024 was published in the Official Gazette, which establishes the list of water use rights subject to the payment of patents for non-use, process 2025 (article 129 bis 4 and following of the Water Code).

Patents must be paid before March 31, 2025 and non-payment is sanctioned with the auction of the water use right, through an executive collection lawsuit.

In the event that the resolution contains errors (such as duplicity of patents), for example, or that a right has been included that is currently in use, or that is covered by any of the presumptions of use of the Water Code, the corresponding appeal for reconsideration may be filed within 30 administrative working days from the date of notification. This period expires on February 26, 2025.
