The Ministry of Energy has submitted to the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic Supreme Decree No. 1 of 2026 (“DS 1”), which introduces significant amendments to Supreme Decree No. 88 of 2019 (“DS 88”), approving the Regulation for Small-Scale Generation Facilities. This regulatory framework applies to Small Distributed Generation Facilities (“PMGD”) and, more broadly, to Small-Scale Generation or Energy Storage Systems (“MGPE”).

In this regard, our Energy team has prepared an executive report summarizing the main amendments introduced by DS 1 and their implications for the regulatory regime applicable to PMGDs and, in general, MGPEs.
