Andrés Rodríguez talks about the new Cybersecurity Law and its effects on the Logistics sector

April 19, 2024

The newspaper El Mercurio published an article on cybersecurity as an invisible pillar for the logistics industry due to the risks that can impact its operations and consequently on consumer confidence and the reputation of the sector.

Our partner, Andrés Rodríguez, stated that the main role of the Framework Law on Cybersecurity and Critical Information Infrastructure in the logistics industry will be to establish the minimum requirements for the prevention, resolution and response to cybersecurity incidents, as well as the duties and mechanisms of control, supervision and liability for violations that private parties will have. A cyber-attack or information security breach resulting from the failure to implement particular cybersecurity standards in advance may be punishable by fines of up to 40,000 UTM, depending on the severity and category of the person who suffers the attack.
