Barros & Errázuriz advised Empresas CMPC S.A. and Inversiones CMPC S.A. on the sale of all their electric transmission assets to Transemel S.A., a subsidiary of Redes Energéticas Nacionais (REN), a leading Portuguese company in the global management of public electric power distribution systems.

The advisory consisted in the study of CMPC Group’s electric transmission assets, consisting of an approximately 190-kilometer electric transmission network located in the Metropolitan, Biobío, and La Araucanía regions, with the purpose of transferring them to Transmisora de Energía Nacimiento S.A. , established for this purpose, to subsequently sell them to an expert operator.
