Barros & Errázuriz advised Sociedad Austral de Electricidad S.A. (SAESA) in the sale of 50% of Eletrans (Eletrans S.A., Eletrans II S.A. and Eletrans III S.A.) to Chilquinta Energía S.A.

With this operation, Chilquinta Energía S.A. went on to control 100% of the share capital of these companies. This transaction is part of a larger one, through which the American electricity company Sempra Energy sold Chilquinta Energía S.A. and its associated assets (among which the three Eletrans companies are) to the Chinese electricity company State Grid.

This will be finalized after obtaining certain government approvals and the fulfillment of certain conditions contemplated in the sale.
