Barros & Errázuriz advised JX Advanced Metals Corporation in the sale of 19% of the capital of SCM Minera Lumina Copper Chile to Lundin Mining Corporation.

This acquisition is part of a call option that JX Advanced Metals Corporation granted to Lundin Mining Corporation during the acquisition process that took place in 2023, through which Lundin Mining Corporation initially acquired 51% of the capital of SCM Minera Lumina Copper Chile. As a result of this new acquisition, its total shareholding in the company now stands at 70%.

Lundin’s purchase represents a strategic acquisition as they currently own the Candelaria mining project in the same region which together with Caserones and the José María project in Argentina creates great opportunities and synergies consolidating a world class mining district in the area.

The transaction as a whole involved a multidisciplinary team that included the participation of the firm’s Corporate-M&A, Mining, Environmental, Labor, Compliance, Tax and Litigation teams.
