Barros & Errázuriz advised BNP Paribas on a US Private Placement (USPP) aimed at the long-term refinancing of El Pelícano Solar Company SpA, part of the Actis Group. The transaction encompasses the El Pelícano photovoltaic solar plant, located in Chile’s Coquimbo Region, and the Pelícano BESS project, a battery energy storage system associated with the solar facility.

This transaction stands out as one of the few refinancings of Chilean solar assets structured through a private placement in the US market. Its execution involved several financing stages, including a bridge loan and a long-term institutional debt structure, as well as the coordination of security arrangements and documentation governed by Chilean and US law.
