Back in March, Latin Lawyer and East Consulting co-hosted a roundtable on trade and investment relations between Asia and Latin America. The session featured our partner Lucas Marinovic, along with Shin Jae Kim of TozziniFreire Advogados, Masaru Umeda of Nishimura & Asahi, and Meng Su of King & Wood Mallesons. Together, they explored the shifting landscape of trade and foreign direct investment (FDI) between Asia and Latin America, as well as the challenges faced by lawyers facilitating cross-border deal-making between the two regions.

We also share a second feature, where the panellists discussed the complexities of setting up and maintaining foreign offices, and how to leverage regional desks, global legal networks, and non-exclusive alliances to support effective deal-making between Asia and Latin America.
