The newspaper El Mercurio published an opinion column titled “Urban Park Concessions: Reducing the Green Gap,” written by Alejandra Vargas, agronomist, and Nicolás Balmaceda, partner at Barros & Errázuriz.
The article discusses the challenges Chile faces in ensuring equitable access to green areas and proposes the public–private concession model as a viable alternative to improve the management, maintenance, and financing of urban parks.
The authors emphasize that advancing in this direction would help reduce gaps, promote sustainability, and build greener and more equitable cities.
