Reminder: Reduction of the Ordinary Weekly Working Hours

With six months remaining before the reduction of the maximum ordinary weekly working hours takes effect—under the second stage of the gradual implementation of Law No. 21,561 (the “Law”)—companies should begin planning how to address this change.

As of April 26, 2026, the maximum ordinary weekly working hours must be reduced from 44 to 42 hours per week. This milestone requires employers to plan ahead for operational, budgetary, and compliance adjustments.
