Barros & Errázuriz advised Conexión Kimal Lo Aguirre S.A., in connection with a hedge agreement with Banco Santander Chile and its corresponding schedules with the purpose of hedging against possible fluctuations of interest and exchange rate, related with the partial financing of the construction and development of the new electric transmission line denominated “Línea HVDC Kimal-Lo Aguirre”. In addition to the hedge agreement, B&E advised to ISA Inversiones Chile SpA and Transelec Holdings Rentas Limitada on granting a set of security documents related to the execution of the hedge, in favor of Santander.

The electric transmission line denominated “Línea HVDC Kimal-Lo Aguirre” is one of the biggest transmission lines in Chile (it will connect the future Kimal Converter Substation located in the Antofagasta Region to the future Lo Aguirre Converter Substation located in the Metropolitan Region) which will greatly complement the current transmission capacity from the north of the country to the center-south.
