CMF Proposes Extending the Transition Period for General Rule No. 532 on the Fund Information System Manual

November 4, 2026

Practice areas

On October 20, the Financial Market Commission (CMF) published for public consultation a proposed regulatory amendment to General Rule No. 532, which established the Fund Information System Manual (MSI de Fondos). The proposal extends until June 30, 2027, the transition period during which General Fund Managers (Administradoras Generales de Fondos) must submit reports in parallel under both the MSI de Fondos and the circulars it replaces.

The proposal does not change the effective date of the reporting requirements under the MSI de Fondos, which have been in force since June 1, 2026, nor does it introduce new reporting files or information requirements. However, it extends the dual reporting period by seven months, resulting in significant operational implications for fund managers. Comments on the proposal may be submitted until November 2, 2026.

In this context, our Capital Markets team has prepared a summary of the main provisions of General Rule No. 532 and the proposed amendment, together with their practical implications for fund managers.
