Opinion Column: Delimiting Priority Sites — A Still Ambiguous Process

El Mercurio Legal published an opinion column by our associate, Trinidad Benavente, in which she analyzes the process of delimiting “priority sites” for biodiversity conservation, as established by the SBAP Law.

In her article, Trinidad discusses the uncertainties and regulatory gaps in the process — including the absence of the regulation that should define essential technical criteria — and how this could affect acquired rights, impose restrictions on already authorized projects, and increase litigation in productive sectors such as mining.
