Co-ownership Bill

June 26, 2020

The bill for the enactment of a new Real Estate Co-ownership Law was approved on January 21, 2020 by the Senate and is currently under discussion in the Chamber of Deputies.

This project completely repeals Law 19,537 in force since 1997. Although it maintains a good part of its substantive aspects, it introduces changes in terms of obligations for the developer and co-owners, administration and quorum, among others. It also creates a National Registry of Administrators and incorporates the Public Interest Housing Condominiums.

In this context, the Real Estate team at Barros & Errázuriz developed a report with the main modifications to the project.
