On 18 December 2023, the Bill creating a National Registry of Final Beneficiaries was submitted to the Senate. According to the transitional provisions, if the bill is approved, it would enter into force within 12 months from the date of publication of the Regulations of the National Registry of Beneficial Ownership, which must be issued within 6 months from the publication of the law in the Official Gazette.

The central objective of this project is to create a registry that allows to know who are the persons behind the companies and other entities.

The proposal for the register of beneficial owners was presented in the Tax Reform Bill rejected in Congress in March 2023.
